Gold Receipts from the Dahlonega Mint are extremely rare. Less than a dozen are known. This receipt Deposit #312 was given to Wm. S. Williams a miner in 1851 when he brought 4 lots of raw gold into the mint for the minting of coins. One from Mrs. Bagor (30.07 ounces)the next two from Williams himself (56.78 ounces)and the last from H.H. Porter (5.02 ounces). It is signed by A.W. Redding, as Treasurer.
